DNA Original TAUWOO releases visuals for “Promised Land”, the latest offering from his recently released album “Disquiet”. Having a 10 year birds eye view into the evolution of TAUWOO, his sound has became more immersive and an exercise in World building. “Disquiet” is a project that keeps you inside of the World TAUWOO is building, introspective mood music ranging from uptempo/house to slow head nod tracks. TAUWOO is one of the pillars Drums & Ammo was built on, a core inspiration in creating a platform for artists chiseling their own paths through different mediums of expression. With that said (in my opinion) a factor that is key to creating music is presenting it live. The artists that ultimately have gained my trust or support are artists I’ve witnessed live and direct on stage. If you have the opportunity to catch TAUWOO live you’ll appreciate the time and effort that goes into his show production alongside his production partner Patrick Aguirre. 1. Name, background, Influences. Tauwoo is an Oakland-based songwriter, singer and multi-instrumentalist. Through his creative practice he explores the vulnerability and fragility of the human spirit as a way of connecting the deeply personal with the universal, and the grief of the natural world. His work draws inspiration from artists like Radiohead, Burial, James Blake, and Patrick Watson.
2. Info on the song: is it a single or part of a bigger project? Is there a particular reason you chose to release it now? Promised Land is a single off my latest full length release. The new album “Disquiet,” produced and mixed by Patrick Aguirre explores the many facets of the human condition, and the intricate emotions we sometimes struggle to find words for. We wanted to give the music video its own moment after the release, as a way to highlight the work of everyone involved.
3. What’s next? Shows, more music/projects, other productions etc etc Patrick and I have been working on a new batch of songs, and scheming more shows in 2025. The live show is feeling good, with Patrick on drums and James Jackson on bass / live production, so we want to keep building a hard hitting, house driven, electronic and theatric live music experience, and ramping things up this year.
