Barbaydose looks to end 2024 with another strong offering, “I See Lightning” the third single off the upcoming Barbaydose LP. Weinthecloud raps “With Bsidez and Hiright we shining in the limelight“ sounds like the affirmations needed to stomp into the New Year. Hiright providing the head nod production for the Record choppers. Bsidez gives the listeners a glimpse of his life with transparent lines “Momma praying that I take her advice”. 1. Name, background, Influences.
For those that don’t know Barbaydose is a rap trio representing the Bay Area featuring Weinthecloud, Bsidez and Hiright. Hiright produces and DJs for the crew with WeInTheCloud and Bsidez holding down the rhyming. The three of us are all producers and emcees but for this project it’s “two emcees and one DJ”. As far as style and influences we definitely got our own flavor but within that you can hear some Hieroglyphics, Dilated Peoples, Big Krit and a few others. We definitely vibrate at our own frequency for sure.
2. Info on the song: is it a single or part of a bigger project? Is there a particular reason you chose to release it now?
I See Lightning is the third visual single we have released this year while gearing up for a larger release. The stark imagery captured by Nobl from MacArthur Maze shows snapshots of different influences we have in regards to our creative output as well as imagery reflective of the rhymes. As champions of uplifting wordplay and aiming to always be our best selves this video is another piece to the growing catalog of Barbaydose illustrating those concepts. Another piece to the puzzle and dot connected.
3. What’s next? Shows, more music/projects, other productions etc etc
We are cooking up more music to share and will be letting loose a few things in the coming months that we have put a lot of time into crafting. As well as a few collabs and definitely another Paradigm Shift event for those that like to rock live!

For this one Hiright produced and directed the video. Big thanks to Nobl who not only worked the camera for the video but provided valuable insights during the process to bring out the best performances as well as shots for the video. Bsidez provided creative direction, lighting (more on that later) and bars. WeIntheCloud added his top flight bars as well as his insight during the creative processes.
