Washington D.C. born, Los Angeles-based producer Adam Snow has spent the past decade building up his eclectic résumé with offerings in the electronic space and collaborations with Gucci Mane, OMB Peezy, Tory Lanez and more. Now he’s readying his next major project, AS LUCK WOULD HAVE IT with the first single in “9 to 5.” He’s enlisted Gary, Indiana rapper Freddie Gibbs, fresh off his critically acclaimed record Bandana and rising Houston emcee Tedy Andreas to trade verses on the inspirational track framed around the struggle of working a dead-end job. “I think the saddest thing I see when I see young people that have already given in. I’m like, that’s the time you fight. That’s the time you should try and fail and try again. Then it’s like, you get old and you can at least be like, ‘well, at least I tried, it didn’t work out,’” the producer says on the song’s introduction. “9 to 5” utilizes a guitar sample that will immediately bring the golden era of 90s west coast hip-hop production to mind paired with an angelic choral arrangement that demands multiple listens. Gibbs waxes about never being one to put up a traditional job’s bureaucracy and subsequently reaping the rewards with that mindset. Andreas gives props to ESPN’s Dan Le Batard, fits “meal-preppin’” into a multi-syllabic rhyme and overall builds upon the promise showcased in last year’s -Andreas Soriano. Hype Beast
