Pharoahe Monch is celebrating his birthday in the best way possible—by bringing us a new song and video. The Mr. Complex-directed clip "24 Hours" finds Pharoahe teaming with M.O.P.'s Lil Fame to get their money from a Wall Street type who owes them big bucks. The song was produced by Monch, with additional production from DJ OGee and Parks Vallely. It is, Pharoahe explained, not part of a larger project. Instead, it's a thank you to his supporters. "'24 Hours' is a standalone song that’s not attached to any upcoming project and is my first independent release," Monch says of...

"Born in the Bay, posted in Philly" producer Sideswipe follows up his last project, "Goners," released earlier this year with his latest release "Fairlight Fairlady". Sideswipe stays in the realm of gritty, sample based instrumentals that carry with or without vocals. 5 instrumentals deep is enough to get caught in the grimey soundscapes. "Potato Salad" is one of the latest visuals from Asap Rocky & Tyler the Creator from the minds of Rocky's mysterious creative collective AWGE. A$AP Rocky and Tyler the Creator connected for the new track while in Paris. "Potato Salad" finds the fashion icons rhyming over Monica's 2003 "Knock Knock," which was co-produced by Missy Elliott and Kanye West. The "Potato Salad" visual comes to a close by teasing a possible upcoming joint project between Rocky and Tyler. "WANG$AP Coming Soon," reads across the screen. Peep the video above.

Smif-N-Wessun have joined the growing list of Hip Hop artists to perform on NPR’s popular Tiny Desk Concert series. The duo of Tek and Steele took it back to 1995’s Dah Shinin, performing “Bucktown” and “Stand Strong” from their classic debut. Smif-N-Wessun also premiered a new song, “One Time,” from their upcoming album with 9th Wonder. Smif-N-Wessun’s Tiny Desk Concert appearance comes amid an exciting time for the duo. The All, Tek and Steele’s collaborative effort with 9th Wonder, was completed in July. The Boot Camp Clik members just dropped its lead single, “Let It Go,” last week. The All...
