Me being a DJ/engineer can appreciate the art of placing/nudging/sliding acapella's in a way that compliments both beat/vocal elements. Oakland based artist ASTU returns with her Debut album "Altars", the follow up to her 2018 EP "Patterns". The first visual from the project is "Source of Her", produced by frequent collaborators Tofu Jack and Daoud. "Source of Her" is a prime example of ASTU's range and desire to explore different soundscapes and frequencies. The span from "Patterns" to "Altars" reflects an artist becoming more comfortable with her voice and utilizing it in many different scenarios.
