Since Rhymesayers Entertainment February 16, 2010 release of Freeway & Jake One's collaboration album "Stimulus Package", talks of a sequel have remained constant. Jake One has stayed on a steady clip working with veterans the likes of Larry June as well as up and coming artists (one being Drums & Ammo's representer HMZA, check his Drums & Ammo Jake One produced single/sitcom "Lost Time" HERE).
Freeway has had a turbulent run after receiving a kidney transplant back in 2019 after enduring dialysis for several years. Freeway’s son Jihad passed away in October 2020 at the age of 19. His daughter, Harmony passed away in October of 2021 after battling cancer. Freeway shared a tribute post on social media for both of his children after they passed.
"Rejoice" brings the 2 artists back together for what sounds to be a new spirit for Philly Freezer with quotes like "Now I'm on my feet I often reminisce". DNA celebrates the return of Freeway and look forward to his next offerings.
