Sideswipe "Goners" Instrumental LP

Philly based producer Sideswipe returns with "Goners", a follow-up from his 2017 debut "Bushido". Citing some of his early influences (El-P, Pete Rock, Da Beatminerz and Lord Finesse), Sideswipe leans more towards the eerie ominous over the soul sample vibe. After the first listen I was left with a Mobb Deep/Portishead feel leaving the question of which vocal performance would be best: rapping or singing. Sideswipe calls his sound “eclectic boom bap” and credits his ear for unusual samples with differentiating him from producers in his vein. “I usually find and use things that are slightly more eclectic that the average person,” he says. Entirely PC software-based, he uses Sony Acid, FL Studio and
ProTools. Even though "Goners" is a instrumental album inspired by the loss of loved ones, death can be used to spark creativity just as much as Life. Listen to "Goners" at https://sideswipey.bandcamp.com/
